Michael Stewart “Mickey” Lautar, 72, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021, in the VA Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA.
Mickey was born December 4, 1948, in Glen Dale, WV, a son of the late Jack and Opal “Pat” (Stewart) Lautar. He was a retired mechanical supervisor for Potomac Electric Power; a Christian by faith; and a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran. He was also a member of the American Legion Post No. 3; the V.F.W. Post No. 437; the Eagles Aerie 499; and the Moose Lodge, Moundsville.
In addition to his parents, Mickey was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Daves.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Joy A. Gary Lautar; two sons, Michael S. (Stacy) Lauter of Oakton, VA and Rev. Kevin A. (Ann) Lautar of Palm Coast, FL; two daughters, Michelle S. (Allen) Hall of Moundsville and Megan A. Lautar of Abilene, TX; a sister, Sharon (Dana) Garten of Moundsville; nineteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In accordance with his wishes, the visitation and services for Mickey will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Vietnam Veterans Support Group, Chapter 1, 500 Market Street, Suite 305, Steubenville, OH 43952.

I worked with and for Mike during his career in Pepco and we had a good time. He was a good man that took care of his crew . He was a good friend and I will miss him.

Like most of the post’ I worked with Mike at PEPCo. A good man, even tempered, jumped in to help when needed and always a pleasure to be around. Played golf with him several times came way with good memories. To borrow a line from Tagore: “ I bow to you and hold up my lamp to light you on your way”. Be at peace Mike, we miss you. Sam

Mike was the best project manager that I worked under. We had great times on and off the job. Mike always thought about other people first. My condolences to his family.

Joy, Michelle, Megan and Sharon There aren't words to express my sorrow of the passing of Mick. He was such a good hearted, kind, loving man, I can't imagine the sadness you are feeling now. Never knew Mickey as a Michael I think we were playing together before we could walk .Mackey was more than a friend he was like a brother. I WILL Dearly miss him but will have lots of great memories So sorry Joy Megan Michelle Sharon. I love you all God Bless You

I worked at PEPCO with Mike. I am sure Mike will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Like someone else said, he always had your back. Mike saved me once before I new there was a problem.
