Paula Jean (Ripley) Proffitt, 81, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021, in Reynolds Memorial Hospital-WVU Medicine, Glen Dale, WV.

Paula was born March 6, 1940, in Dover, Ohio, the daughter of the late Darrell and Maxine (Stringer) Ripley. She was a retired office manager for the former Precision Form, Inc., Triadelphia, WV; was an avid bowler; and enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by her two children, Jeffrey (Patricia) Proffitt of North Canton, OH and Theresa (Kenneth) Rhodes of Moundsville; four grandchildren, Candace (Garrett) Wirth, Paige Proffitt, Savanah Rhodes and Stacy Rhodes; and seven great-grandchildren.

In accordance with her wishes, Paula will be cremated. A memorial gathering will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, Saturday, January 8, 2022, from 1 pm until time of memorial service at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Marshall County Animal Shelter, 37 Animal Shelter Drive, Moundsville, WV 26041, or online at www.tmcfunding.com.
