Pauline C. Barnes, 96, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Monday, July 20, 2020, in Wheeling Hospital.

Pauline was born August 11, 1923, in Bridgeport, OH, the only child of James C. and Gertrude A. (Hammel) Barnes. She was a graduate of Bridgeport High School; and attended West Liberty State College. She retired from Western Union, after 29 years, the North American Coal Corp., after 14 years; and was a former employee of Wheeling Downs Racing Association. She was also a former member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wheeling.

In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her companion, Edgar E. McFarland, Jr.; and her companion, William Parker. She is survived by her friends, Steve Johnson of Wheeling, Carol and William Nice of Tiltonsville, and Janie Bober of St. Clairsville; and several cousins, and their families.

Friends will be received at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, Friday, July 24, 2020, from 10 am, until time of funeral service at 11 am, with Rev. Deborah Gable officiating. Interment will follow in Serenity Views Cemetery, New Martinsville, WV.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1409 Chapline Street, Wheeling, WV 26003.
