Phyllis Caleleen Hartley, 85, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at Cameron Nursing Home.

She was born September 20, 1933, the daughter of late George Washington and Ethel (Huggins) Goodnight. Phyllis was a Christian by faith and retired from Reynolds Hospital dietary department. She enjoyed baking for loved ones and crocheting.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, William E. Hartley; two sons, George and Willard Jefferson Hartley; her daughter, Ethel Kathleen Wayt; three brothers, Harley, George Junior and Marvin Goodnight; one grandson, Robert William Hartley and a great-granddaughter, Hailey Henry.

Phyllis is survived by her two sons, Robert (Winnie) Hartley of Moundsville, and Randy (Mary Loretta) A. Hartley of Kentucky; one brother, Jack (Arlene) Goodnight of Moundsville; son-in-law, Lawrence Wayt of AZ; one sister-in-law, Branda Goodnight of Moundsville; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 4-8 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., where funeral services will take place Friday, July 26, at 12:30 pm with Pastor Rodney Hubbs officiating. Interment will be held at Limestone Presbyterian Cemetery.

I’m saddened to hear Aunt Phyllis passed. She will be greatly missed. She always had a special place in my heart. Sending love and hugs and prayers for the family.
