Ralph Albert Chaplin, 76, of Proctor, WV, passed away Friday, March 8, 2019, at home, surrounded by family.

He was born March 9, 1942, a son of the late Dana Albert and Virginia (Richmond) Chaplin. Ralph was a U.S. Army Veteran, a dairy farmer and a long time construction and heavy equipment operator and a member of the Marshall County Fair Board. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed stock car racing.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Floyd Chaplin and great-granddaughter, Marion Sue Clark.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ella Bea (Howe) Chaplin; four children, Annette (Tom) Clark, Wayne (Tina) Chaplin, Brenda (Paul) Rine and Christy (Jason) Miller; five siblings, Merle (Jean) Chaplin, James Chaplin, Martha Sego, Barbara O’Brien and Phyllis Bogzevitz; 11 grandchidlren, 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Monday, March 11, 2019, at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville from 2-4 & 5-7 pm.
