Rev. Russell H McCuen, Jr. (Mac), went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. He was born November 2, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA to parents Olga Julia Christensen and Russell Howard McCuen, Sr. who preceded him in death along with his younger brother, Robert H. McCuen.

Mac graduated from Maryville College, TN (BA English, 1960), Pittsburgh Seminary (M. Divinity, 1963), and West Virginia University, (MBA, 1980). After leaving the General Assembly, he completed four interim assignments in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and West Virginia.

After retiring, Mac attended Harvey Browne Presbyterian, in Louisville, KY and was an avid Christian adult educator for Third Lutheran Church and Harvey Browne congregations. We were blessed to have Mac and his family with our Stone Presbyterian Church in Wheeling. He was a wonderful Pastor and friend. Our children Amy and Doug were close in age of Wendy and Adam. They have special memories of their time together. May Mac rest in peace after his job on earth well done. Love and Blessings to his family. It was a beautiful service for Mac.

Russ may have long forgotten me, but he and I were two of only three members of a speech class at Maryville College in the 1958-59 school year. Having grown up in Belmont County, across from Wheeling, I took great interest upon discovering that he had been chosen as Pastor of Stone Presbyterian. I even attended his church for a time, until I moved on to Columbus in my career, broadcasting. May God continue to be with you and your loved ones, old chum.
