Rickey “Bear” Kosky, age 67 of Moundsville, WV., passed away peacefully at UPMC on October 14, 2020. Bear was born in Wheeling, WV., December 6, 1952 and was the son of Andrew and Mary Kosky.
Bear enjoyed spending time with his family and going to camp in Fish Creek. He was an avid sports fan of the Steelers, Pirates, and Mountaineers. Bear also enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas, testing his luck each time. He was a member of the American Legion Post 3, a former employee of Fostoria Glass, and a driver for Marshall County Senior Center.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Glen (Margaret) Waters; parents, Andrew and Mary Kosky; brother-in-law Douglas Strope; aunt and uncle Annette (Bob) Waters.
Bear is survived by his wife, Crystal Kosky, of Moundsville, WV.; daughter Holly (Jim) Hutchison, of Moundsville, WV.; son Gregory (Melissa) White of TN.; sisters Connie (Craig) Fullerton of Moundsville, WV. and Donna (Chris) Taskalines of Moundsville, WV.; brothers Duke (Diane) Kosky of Moundsville, WV., and Dan (April) Kosky of McMechan, WV.; 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, numerous nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews.
Services will be held at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, WV where friends will be received for a visitation Friday, October 16, 2020, 4-8 p.m. and the Funeral will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020, 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place in McMechan Cemetery following the funeral service.
