Rita Eileen Dolan, 96, of Wheeling, WV, formerly of Washington, DC, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019, in Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling.


Rita was born September 27, 1922, in Wheeling, a daughter of the late James J. and Lena B. (Teufel) Dolan.  She was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Wheeling; a Catholic by faith and former member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Washington, DC; and a retired Congressional Liaison Specialist for the Department of the Interior.


In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her sister, Mary D. Thompson.  She is survived by her numerous cousins, including Bill (Maureen) Dolan, Mary Palma, Peggy Dolan, Pat Dolan, John (Kim) Dolan, Tim Dolan, Dan (Janet) Dolan, Bernie (Jeannette) Dolan, Katy (John) Nolan, Steve (Mary) Dolan, Teresa (Bryan) Michaels, Matt (Elaine) Dolan, Rita (Tom) Parise, Fran (George) Druffner, Mike (Patti) Reddy, Ann Siegel, Kathleen (Jerrod) Orians, Amy Reddy, Kenneth (Pat) Kirchgessner, David (Martha) Kirchgessner, Mary Rita (David) Sonderman, Gerald (Rebecca) Kirchgessner, Kathleen Costanzo, Leo Stauver, Russell (Sharon) Stauver and Mary Dee (Lawrence) Bandi.


In accordance with Rita’s wishes, there will be no visitation.  Funeral services and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
