Robert “Mike” Baker, 68, of Wheeling, WV passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Wheeling Hospital.

He was born on December 17, 1953 in Glen Dale, WV, son of the late Robert F. and Rae S. (Wilson) Baker.

Mike was the editor of the yearbook at John Marshall; a graduate of WVU, where he earned degrees in Journalism and Political Science; past member and president of the Friends of Wheeling & Victorian Wheeling Society, past chairman of Ohio County Library Board; chairman of the Moundsville Historical Society; Board of Directors Chairman of the Delf Norona Museum; founder of the Fostoria Glass Museum, where he served as president for ten years; former Post office worker and realtor; member of the Knights of Columbus; and former City of Moundsville councilman.

Survivors include his three brothers, John D. Baker and Mark S. (Karen) Baker, all of Moundsville and Chris P. Baker of Austin, TX and a nephew, Alex S. Baker of Philadelphia, PA.

A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 6 pm until time of services at 7 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville.
Interment will follow at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery, Moundsville, WV.
