My prayers go to the Henry family. I first met Hero as a kid in South Wheeling. Later I worked at the former 42nd St Food land. He would ride us to the night deposit. A life long public servant.

Mrs. Henry and Family. I am sad to hear about Mr. Henry. My prayers are with you at this difficult time. As old as us kids are that grew up on the street. I called him Mr. Henry then and I still called him Mr. Henry to this today for the respect that I had for him. The street lost a good neighbor and a friend to all who are still there.

The Henry Family was a integral part of my formative years. We vacationed together, went to school and church with them. My heart is heavy. Heaven is a happier place with Herk there. He will be missed!

To the Henry Family- What a legacy of caring and devotion Herk leaves as an example to many. In my dealings with him at church, work, or anywhere in the community he was always cheerful. His smile said so much about him. Prayers of comfort and peace to all of you.

All the Mozart Baseball games. Fourth of July when the kids were young. There was not a time when I saw Herk without a smile on his face. He will be missed by more people then he will ever know. My prayers go out to his loving wife and all his extended family.

To the family of Herk Henry, I want to express my "Deepest Sympathy " in the passing of your beloved husband,father, and grandfather. I often admired the councilman for the support and concern he gave to South. Wheeling issues during his tenure with the city.. I remember posting one of his election signs inside my husband, TONYS PIZZA SHOP on 37th Street over 20 years ago. This meant , of course, that Tony truly considered him a friend. Whenever we needed anything he always came down to look around. And I also remember when Mary Margaret KLee had her SOUTH SIDE MEETINGS Rose and Herk were always there. And when or little daughter got old enough to play outdoors, Herk made sure that a. " CHILDREN AT PLAY" sign was placed in our back alley on a pole next to our garage! An era came to an end this week with the loss of Councilman Henry. He was a man of greatest integrity who had an everlasting love and respect for his Catholic faith, his family, his friends, and his community. May Herk Henry. Rest in peace!!! We are so sorry for your loss. My husband told me last night, when he was in school, and "they" got into mischief, they would pray Mr Henry would be stepping out of the police cruiser -he would give them an ear full and send them on their way. I remember the time when we played basketball with uncle bob and my dad when we were kids and my dad stood on my foot when i went up for a jump shot and i said that was a foul and uncle bob said that was fair he was my favorite uncle i love and miaa him very much.
