Ronald Chester "Ron" Sobutka

September 22, 1942 - June 9, 2019

Ronald Chester Sobutka, 76, of McMechen, WV, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019, at Wheeling Hospital.

He was born September 22, 1942, a son of the late Chester and Dolores (Kaschke) Sobutka. Ron was a member of St. James Catholic Church and an avid fisherman. His family was his world, from watching his grandsons play sports to spending time at the family camp, where so many memories were made.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, of 52 years, Sally (Maine) Sobutka; two children, Brian (Stacey) Sobutka of Moundsville, WV and Amy (John) Pittman of Fredericksburg, VA; four siblings, Janis Faulstick of Warwood, WV, Paul (Linda) Sobutka of Weirton, WV, Nelson (Joan) Sobutka of Warwood and Chester (Lisa) Sobutka Jr. of Moundsville; four grandchildren, Kalyn, Braden and Brennan Sobutka and Darren Pittman, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Thursday, June 13, 2019, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Benwood-McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall St. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, June 14, at 11 am at St. James Catholic Church. Interment will take place at Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens.
