Zanke, Ronald F., 84, of Rayland, Ohio, died Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at home.
He was born September 6, 1936, in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Vincent J. and Helen V. Yeager Zanke. He was Catholic by faith and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a retired carpet installer and was a member of the Cave Club, the Elm Grove Eagles, the PAP Club of Wheeling, the Snake Club of Wheeling, the IOLA Club of Wheeling, the Yorkville VFW, and the Tiltonsville Indian Club.
He is survived by his companion of 26 years, Cheryl Schunn, and her children, Barry Schunn and Aimee Masters; two brothers, Vincent W. (Joyce) Zanke and William J. Zanke; one sister, Luann (Jim) Gilliland; nieces and nephews including, Steven Gilliland, John Gilliland, Paul Gilliland, and Patrick Gilliland, Stacy Paolella, Chris Zanke, Amy Zanke, Matthew Arden, Sarah DiMatto, Max Zanke, and Megan Gustashaw; and several great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Monday, November 30, 2020 at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling from 2 pm until time of funeral service at 7 pm with Rev. Carlos L. Melocoton officiating.
