O’HARA, Rose Elizabeth Augustine, 92, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Monday, July 29, 2019 in Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling.
Rose was born October 12, 1926, in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Dominic and Nellie Whiteus Augustine.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Wheeling; a member of the West Virginia Extension Office; a member of the Washington Acres Homemaker’s Club since 1961; a volunteer for the American Heart Association; Girl Scout Leader; a member of the Christian Mothers; a leader of the 4H Club; worked for the Ohio County Fair for many years; and was active in the breast cancer awareness ceremony by hanging a wreath on the Ohio County building for years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. “Bud” O’Hara, one brother, two sisters, and one grandson, David Hoskins.
She is survived by her three children, Edward “Butch” (Mary) O’Hara of Wheeling, Michael (Deidre) O’Hara of West Liberty, W.Va., and Patti (Larry) Hoskins of Wheeling; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
At Rose’s request, there will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 11 am St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. Martin Smay as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.

We are so sorry to hear of your Mother’s passing. Todd and Roin
Rose was an awesome lady. She was everybody’s friend. I knew her through her work in the CEOS and the Ohio County Country Fair. She will be missed. Prayers of comfort for her family and friends.

Rose was such a sweet lady. Always smiling. She was active in her church and community. She loved her family! Prayers to the family!
My fond memories of Rose are that she didn’t know a stranger. Always welcomed friends and strangers in to her home and surrounded them with love, kindness and lots of food. God bless Rose and Rest In Peace. Sending love to Family.
