Rose P. (Kostelecsky) Battista, 74, of Benwood, WV, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Liza’s Place, Wheeling, WV.
She was born March 17, 1941 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Alice (Storm) Kostelecsky.
Rose was a member of St. James Catholic Church, McMechen, homemaker and a former employee of Cook United and Rinks Department Store.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jo (Tim) Holloway.
Rose is survived by her Husband of 51 years, Richard “Dick” Battista of Benwood; daughter Denise Battista of Imperial, PA; brother, Joseph (Carolyn) Kostelecsky of Sherrard, WV; three sisters, Martha Tucker of Middlebourne, WV, Jane Ellen (Steve) Randolph of Inwood, WV and Brenda (Bernie) Doyle of Moundsville, WV; two dear friends, Cathy (Zelic) Winzenreid and Janice (Sparachane) Zelewicz and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Monday, September 7, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Benwood-McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall Street., McMechen.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at St. James Catholic Church, McMechen, with Rev. Bekeh Utietiang serving as celebrant.
Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
