Sandra Jeanne (Hester) Smith, 76, of Jerusalem, OH, formerly of Wheeling, WV., passed away Friday, July 24, 2020, in Wheeling Hospital.

Sandra was born July 15, 1944, in Wheeling; a daughter of the late Homer and Nellie Pearl (Scott) Hester. She was a graduate of McKinley High School, Canton, OH; and received her Associate degree in Security from the former Jefferson Community College, Steubenville, OH. She was a Methodist by faith; and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Barnesville, OH.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her son, Paul Smith, II; two sisters, Eileen Myles, and infant, Jeanne Hester; and four brothers, James Albert “Buck” Hester, William Hester, Wallace Hester and Hobart Hester.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Deborah Abbott of Conway, SC; a sister, Doris Hester Bernosky of Adena, OH; and three grandchildren, Logan, Landon and Payton Abbott.

Friends will be received at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling,Thursday July 30, 2020, from 11 am until time of funeral service at 1 pm, with the Rev. Steven Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
