Stanley Kyrc

October 11, 1927 - January 14, 2022

Stanley Kyrc Jr., 94, of Wheeling, WV, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on January 14, 2022. Born on October 11, 1927 to Polish immigrants Stanislaw Kyrc Sr and Margaret Machel Kyrc, he was the youngest of four children.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Emma LaRue Kyrc; daughters Kathleen Provezis and Roberta Stewart; grandchildren Staci Provezis (Jad Smith), Nickol Provezis Gaudino (Corey Gaudino), and Tom Provezis (Danielle Brown); and great-grandchildren Anastazy Smith-Provezis, Zachary Gaudino, Evan Gaudino, and Benjamin Gaudino.

Stanley attended St. Joseph’s Academy and belonged to St. Michael’s Catholic Church. He was a US Marine Corp veteran, who served on the Pacific front of WWII. Music was a big part of his life. Stanley could play any stringed instrument, and the highlight of family gatherings and holidays was him playing music, including his favorite song Amazing Grace. He delighted every family member by playing and singing a special song just for them on their birthdays.

He enjoyed understanding how things worked and could fix anything. He would happily lend a helping hand and teach others what he knew. But his most important lessons were taught by example, leading a life with grace, dignity, discipline, strength, respect, and love.

He was a caring, patient, and kind soul, who always put his family first. Those who were around him felt loved and cherished. He will be so missed. Memorial contributions can be made to Helping Heroes of America (

There will be no visitation. Interment will be held at a later date.

Arrangements by Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling.
