Susan May Mitchell, 74, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021, at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH.

She was born December 25, 1946 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late James and Sarah (Bowman) Cooke. Sue was a Methodist by faith and a member of the Warwood Vets Association.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, of 55 years, Thomas “Bill” Mitchell (2021); one daughter, Melissa Zucco and one brother, Jimmy Cooke.

Susan is survived by her two children, Susan (Rick) Swisher and Billy (Stephanie) Mitchell; five siblings, Sam Hall, David (Lisa) Hall, Wayne (Joyce) Hall, Harold Hall and Mary Jane Flemming; five grandchildren, Destinie, Cynthia (Antonio), Gina, William (Kayla) and Ronnie; four great-grandchildren, Rileigh, Macie, Sophia and Olivia; several nieces and nephews and a dear friend, Jen Cochran

Family and friends will be received Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 4 pm until time of services at 7 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, 1400 Eoff St.
