Christina “Tina” Sheldon Rahi, 50, of Wheeling, WV., was called to be with God on Wednesday, October 2, 2019. A woman of faith since her birth, Tina now sits by the Lord’s side and watches over all of us from Heaven above.
Tina was born January 29, 1969, in Wheeling, the daughter of Gregory & Palma Sheldon of Wheeling. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving, loyal, dedicated husband of 26 years, Ramsey Rahi; two beautiful, intelligent, strong daughters, Kylie (boyfriend Zach Dorley), and Kayla Rahi; and adoring brother, Mark Sheldon, all of Wheeling. She will be forever joyfully remembered by her mother and father-in-law, Chamse and Assad Rahi of Wheeling; sisters and brothers-in-law, Adele (Bill) Storm, Chuck Rahi, Alicia (Scott) Peklinsky, all of Wheeling, and Sonia (Dustin) Howarth of Bridgeville, PA; nephews and nieces, Ryan (Renee) Storm, Alan (Jennifer) Storm, Eric Storm, Nicole Peklinsky, Connor Peklinsky, Aiden Howarth, and Tyler Howarth; many cousins, and numerous friends. She is preceded in death by her infant sister, Kimberley Sheldon.
Tina was a member of St. Vincent de Paul’s Church in Wheeling, a 1987 graduate of Wheeling Central High School, and a graduate of Wheeling Hospital’s X-Ray Technician Program with certification in mammography. Tina was previously employed at Wheeling Hospital as an X-Ray Technician, and in more recent years at Bath and Body Works at the Highlands.
Tina wants to be remembered as someone who lived life to the fullest, took pleasure in the simple things in life, loved animals, was an unbelievable fighter, and never took anything for granted! More than anything, her greatest treasures in life were that of being a faithful wife and devoted mother!
In 1998, while pregnant with her 2nd daughter, Tina was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. As a testament to her immense faith in Christ, Tina not only delivered a healthy baby daughter Kayla, but also, through sheer will and determination, she eventually beat her dreaded cancer disease after enduring many years of chemotherapy treatments.
Because of her indelible conviction and incredible resolve, Tina withstood a courageous battle for 21 years against a deadly ailment that claims too many so quickly in order to raise two wonderful daughters with her amazing husband – something she took immense pride in!
Moreover, she loved spending time with her dogs and cats, relished the sights and sounds of nature from her back deck, and thoroughly enjoyed interacting with her many regular customers at Bath and Body Works.
Tina’s family would like to thank Dr. James Comerci, Dr. Jondavid Pollock, and the numerous dedicated doctors, nurses, and support staff who assisted her at Wheeling Hospital and Allegheny General Hospital throughout the years.
Friends will be received from 2-8 pm, Friday, October 4, 2019, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Saturday, October 5, 2019, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Wheeling, with Monsignor Paul Hudock as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
