Bucon, Virginia, 93, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, formerly of Wheeling, died Saturday June 23, 2018 in Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling.

She was born October 24, 1924 in Wheeling, the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Teofila Gawrych Podeszwa.

Virginia was a retired seamstress for the former West Virginia Garment Factory, Wheeling and a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wheeling.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Chester Bucon in 1998, seven brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia (Ken) Templeton of St. Clairsville, Ohio, and Donna (Keith) Karl of Brick Town NJ, a sister Cecelia Ciripompa of Wheeling, six grandchildren, Bryan (Julie) Templeton of Wheeling, Zachary (Renay) Templeton of Bridgeport, Ohio, Melissa (Nathan) Rohrig of Wheeling, Michael Templeton of St. Clairsville, Brad Karl of Brick Town, NJ. and Alex (Cindy) Karl of NY., six great-grandchildren, Chandler, Alexandra, Maggie, Madison, Owen and Bayli, a special nephew Dennis (Gay) Bucon and family, a special sister-in-law Elizabeth Bucon, several other nieces and nephews and her faithful K-9 companion, “Bill”.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday June 26, 2018 at 12 pm at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with Msgr. Anthony Cincinnati as celebrant. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 2111 Market Street, Wheeling WV., 26003.

I was privileged to visit a few moments with Virginia on Friday. She expressed how she loved my Mother who passed 10 years ago. I will cherish the memory.
