William H. "Bill" Curtis, Sr.

CURTIS, William “Bill” H. Sr., 81, of West Alexander, Pa., died Thursday, August 29, 2019, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born December 5, 1937, in Columbus, Ohio, a son of the late L.D. and Dorothy Dennison Curtis. He was a retired machinist and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jack D. Curtis, and two sisters, Alicia Ann Depto and Sara Elizabeth Clark.

He is survived by his wife, Susie Craig Curtis; five sons, Bill Curtis, Mark Curtis, Jim Curtis, Sam Curtis, and Tim Curtis; two daughters, Mary Merritt and Crystal Curtis; two sisters, Mary Dean Kilbride and Rebecca Melvin; three brothers, David O. Curtis, Mike Curtis, and Andrew Curtis; fifteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

At Bill’s request, there will be no visitation. Friends will be received for a memorial gathering on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at 1 pm until time of memorial service at 2 pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Benwood-McMechen Chapel, 214 Marshall Street, McMechen, with Rev. Paul Harmon officiating. Military honors will follow.
