William Frank Toland, Sr., 92, Wheeling, WV died Friday, August 30, 2019 in Wheeling Continuous Care Center, Wheeling. He was born Dec. 28, 1926 in Captina, WV, a son of the late Frank S. and Esther M. (Burrows) Toland. He was a retired employee with Wheeling Closure, a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church, Wheeling and a Veteran of the U.S. Army in WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Esther King and three brothers, John, Jim and Tom Toland. Surviving is his beloved wife of 69 years, Norma Jean (Schultz) Toland; two sons, William F. (Debra) Toland, Jr. of Wheeling, Timothy R. (Susan) Toland of Wheeling; a brother, Ron (Candi) Toland of Florida; a granddaughter, Emily Jean Toland and several nieces and nephews. Friends received Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling where services will be held on Wed. Sept. 4, 2019 at 10:00 am with Rev. Mark Seitz officiating. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthews Episcopal Church Altar Guild.
