Condolences for Matilda D. Padula

My childhood memories of Aunt Matilda are many. Seeing her and the other family members at the Padula house for Sunday supper while we visited From Michigan are my earliest memories. She would always have a small gift for us. My brother and I were also recipients of those famous holiday gift packages from Aunt Matilda! I was blessed to have been able to spend some quality time with her a little over a month ago. She was very sharp and clear minded and she shared many family stories with me of her growing up, many of them about her brother Angelo, my Grandfather. What a joy to see her smile and laugh at those memories. She was a caring beautiful person and a devout Christian. I will miss her dearly.

I have so many wonderful memories of my Aunt Matilda, especially from our WV trips when we were young. She would read to us, sing to us, and play her Topo Giggio records. She would also send the best holiday boxes filled with little toys, stickers, and candy. We were always so excited to receive them. Such a special childhood memory! She was such a kind, caring and generous person and she will be greatly missed.

We remember when we were young and Tillie came to Pittsburgh to visit with our mother, Helen. She brought pasta and sauce that her mother made. She told funny stories and made us laugh. Sorry to hear of her passing. Debra and Michael Borst
