Condolences for Wanda C. Brown

Owens, I had lunch each day with Wanda when we both were teaching at Madison School. She was humorous and realistic. I looked forward to those lunches and was so sad when she left teaching. I would sometimes see you pushing her in her wheelchair through Woodsdale and I appreciated that she could get outside for fresh air. She will always be in the hearts and minds of those that taught at Madison School. Please accept my sincere sympathies - Ann Coleman

NAACP Midwest Region III 530 S. Pine St. Lansing, MI 48933 January 4, 2020 Owens Brown, President West Virginia State Conference NAACP 20 Stackyard Road Wheeling, WV 26003 Dear President Brown Family and Friends, On the occasion of your wife Wanda’s transition to glory, your NAACP family in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia and Wisconsin extend our condolences to you. 1 Corinthians Chapter 15 says: 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. We have faith that death is not the end and that sister Wanda has victory with God. Sincerely yours, Dr. Jerome L. Reide Regional Field Director NAACP Midwest Region III

I will remember her joy and laughter in living every day to the fullest. We had lots of fun our Junior year at West Liberty State College in Krise Hall. I had the privilege of knowing Wanda later when she joined Epsilon Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma ( a teacher honorary). She was a bright and shining star. My sympathy to Owens and her family.

Dear Owens, My heartfelt sympathy to you and all who loved Wanda. I remember fondly our trip to Atlanta so many years ago now when I went with the Cayards and we all heard the great Clergy and Laity Concerned speakers.
