A tireless advocate for Catholic organizations and Christian principles. He devoted his time and talent to make this Ohio Valley a better place. His wise counsel and advice will be missed. May the family take comfort in the many memories his presence provided.

Uncle Bob always had a smile on his face, and lived with joy, grace and faith, walking and serving humbly. Praying for all of you to be comforted with many memories that make you smile, even as you miss him. I am sad that I cannot be with you to celebrate his life. Peace and love, Janet

Bob Schmitt was a wonderful man who guided my career in the phone company and gave valuable advice to both of us. Bob was the first to take me aside in Clarksburg and give me valuable career guidance. As a brand-new management employee, who was trying to find his way, the phone company can be a bit intimidating. His calm, caring demeanor provided great leadership for me and many people in the phone company. I credit Bob in many was for my successful thirty-year career. Later in life Carol and I ran into Bob out at a WV Notre Dame football game. He greeted us with a broad smile. We were aware of the medical condition of his wife Dorothy. When we asked how he was doing he provided critical advice that Carol and I follow to this day. He said be sure to value every day together. You never know when life’s circumstances will change. We have never forgotten his sage counsel. Our respect for Bob cannot be measured except to say we are grateful for his impact on our lives both in the past and every day. Tom and Carol Terry

To the Family of Bob, Please accept my deepest sympathy in the passing of Bob. I so very often talked with him over the years when he would be at THE CATHEDRAL and ST MichaelS for special events. He would always tell me about the large religious family he came from .,he was very proud of his heritage. May he Rest In Peace with the Angels and Saints in Heaven!!!

So that others may know, Bob was a super person. He never forgot those who graduated with him. We emailed often and he always had a kind word about everyone. When he brought a group of golfers to Disney World every winter time, he would always include me at play time. He will be sadly miss and my prayer's go out to his family.
